As soon as your char enters the Gauntlet all its Energy which was raised by lvlupstats is drained to zero instantly. In some gauntlet areas and especially in nightmare and hell difficulty even more Energy (and therefor mana) is drained instantly to a near zero or even below amount. 
In order to overcome that heavy drain you need a lot of items and stuff increasing your actual Mana amount without raising Energy via lvlups. 

An example might sum it up: 
A char with 1000 energy raised via lvlupstats entering certain areas in gauntlet looses all 1000 energy + ~25% making a total of ~1250 energy drained. Now figure you need items (or skills like power sourge or battle orders) to overcome atleast 125 energy. 

This example only covers up a small part of the Energy drain formula used in the gauntlet but its the most vital one to keep in mind. 
Pure INT builds are going to have serious problem overcoming the Energy to zero drain. 

Additionaly to that there is a fix amount of energy/mana drained depending on the difficulty lvl (and appearantly the charclass(?)). The Saviour Set is a pretty good assurance to manage gauntlet teleports. 

Depending on the difficulty and your charlvl you will need a faster cast rate aswell. usually +10% enables you to teleport (with a reeeaal slow animation tho) in norm gauntlet. +50% would be the 'normal' cast rate again. Also be aware of a slight bug causing the game to crash when you try to teleport in Hell Gauntlet with less than a certain amount of fcr (faster cast rate). 

There is another trick making it possible to teleport in gauntlet: 
Some might consider a charged teleport would do the trick but that item bonus is not included in the nez mod. BUT using the 'Hidden Class Charm' of Baal (see recipes) with 5 'Sturdy Scrolls' cubed on it "Baal Teleport" is available for you in transformed mode. "Baal Teleport" comes pretty close to a charged teleport and works from lvl51 upwards even in hell gauntlet.
