-Installation/Uninstallation-

If you have used mods before and know how they work, you should already know what to do.  All the changes are in the mpq.

If you are new to mods, here is step by step instructions.
1)Install Diablo II and Lord of Destruction
2)Upgrade to version 1.11
3)Go to your diablo ii directory(default is c:\program files\diablo ii) and make a backup copy of the file patch_d2.mpq.  Either rename it or put it in another directory.  You will need this file to uninstall.
4)Copy runesmithXXXX.mpq to your diablo ii directory and rename it patch_d2.mpq.
(The XXXX is the version number, which changes with each version.  Get the latest version at http://hosted.filefront.com/Zaelar)

To uninstall, simply put the original patch_d2.mpq back into your diablo ii directory.

-General changes-

Enemies get stronger.
Less experience penalties at high levels.
Less immunities on monsters.
Champions and Uniques don't get as large of a bonus.

Boost skills:
Boost skills are skills that only need one level to get their maximum effect, and aren't effected by +skills.  They cost 3 skill points if you don't have another boost skill, but if you do, it will cost 10.  Only the amazon, assassin, and paladin have boost skills.

Rune crafts:
Transmuting 2-7 runes can create a crafted item.  For example, el + eld = crafted boots with increaced run/walk speed and fire resist.
-Two of the same rune aren't used.
-Highest rune is dol for normal items.
-Highest rune is fal for exceptional items.
-Highest rune is mal for elite items.

-Items-

Stronger base items start dropping sooner.
Larger inventory, stash, and cube.
Removed charms.
Removed jewels.
Removed set items.
Unique items replaced by Customized items.
Start with the cube.
Better gambling odds for rares.
Removed staffmods(random +skills).
Gems and Runes improved; higher level requirements on gems.
Higher level runes are more common.
Potions heal more and cost more.
Lowered defence on body armor and shields.
Raised defence on helmets, belts, gloves and boots.
Base defence isn't random.
Removed chance to cast amplify damage mod.
Removed all damage% and defence% mods.
Removed level requirements for base items.

(automods)
Necromancer heads get +all necromancer skills.
Druid helmets get auras on equip.
Barbarian helmets get +all barbarian skills.
Gloves get +dex.
Boots get increaced run/walk speed and stamina.
Belts get +mana.
Helmets get +defence.
Circlets get elemental damage/pierce.
Wands get +life/mana.
Staves get +to all skills.
Scepters get +attack rating.
Claws get -% enemy defence.
All weapons get +% enhanced damage.
All armor gets +% enhanced defence.

(Cube)

All old crafting recepies no longer require a jewel.
All rune upgrades are two runes = one higher rune.
Gems need 5 of the same type to upgrade.

Upgrade recepies for crafted items:
Normal Crafted Armor + ith + dol + perfect topaz = Exceptional Armor
Exceptional Crafted Armor + io + mal + perfect topaz = Elite Armor
Normal Crafted Weapon + eth + hel + perfect ruby = Exceptional Weapon
Exceptional Crafted Weapon + hel + ist + perfect ruby = Elite Weapon

Quality recepies:
rare + thul = magic
magic + ort = normal
normal + mal = superior
any + gul = superior
socketable item + io = 1 socket
socketable item + ko = 2 sockets
socketable item + lem = 3 sockets
socketable item + um = 4 sockets
socketable item + ist = 5 sockets
socketable item + vex = 6 sockets
(max 3 for magic, 1 rare/crafted/cusomized, and limited by item type as well)

Skeleton Mastery boosted.
Greatly improved Inner Sight.(mostly at high levels)
Cold Mastery adds damage to cold spells.
Meditation starts at 100%, gets 50% per level.
Salvation is weaker.
Holy Fire is stronger.
Poison Javelin duration is shorter.
Charged Strike gets stronger.
Claws of Thunder gets stronger.
Blades of Ice gets stronger.
Fists of Fire gets stronger.
Solar Creeper recovers more mana.
Spirit Wolves do more damage.
